MEET OUR CEO

Kevin D. Anderson is the Founding Chief Executive Officer of The T.R.U.T.H. Project, Inc., an educational and community mobilization platform focusing on LGBTQ Communities of Color and allies that utilizes social art to promote mental, emotional and sexual health.

IN 2009, KEVIN LAUNCHED HEART&SOUL,
A MONTHLY NON-DISCRIMINATORY ARTS SHOWCASE FOR ALL ART FORMS.

This merged arts space featured spoken word, dance, visual art, vocalist and actors. Focusing on the preservation of the arts, Kevin ensured this space stimulated and inspired artists to focus on broadening their scope and focus on the meaning of their work.

OVER THE LAST 13 YEARS, KEVIN HAS MENTORED MANY OF THE ARTISTS THAT HE ENCOUNTERED

His mentorship focuses on educating his mentees on seeing their art as an opportunity for entrepreneurship, healing, and advocacy.

INSPIRED BY HEART&SOUL, IN 2013 KEVIN ESTABLISHED TELLING REAL UNAPOLOGETIC THROUGH HEALING (T.R.U.T.H.) PROJECT

Created to fill the void of limited programming and support for LGBTQ+ communities of color and their allies, the T.R.U.T.H. Project (TTP) has made possible a safe space for which individuals can express themselves, and seek guidance and support, that often proves to be life-transforming or even lifesaving.

PERHAPS THE GREATEST IMPACT FROM KEVIN’S CURATING AND LEADERSHIP HAS BEEN THE INCREASE OF MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCE DISSEMINATION FROM MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS.

Since 2013, Kevin has ensured mental health professionals were in attendance during programming to reduce mental health stigma and provide the opportunity for community members to have access to a professional during a time of need.

KEVIN BRINGS AN INSIDE-OUT APPROACH TO ART UTILIZATION TOWARDS HEALING

Because he believes in personal transformation and social transformations are interdependent. He has worked on the front line in the field of HIV and other health disparities and recognizes the need to continue to foster a space for healing, personal transformation, and social change.
